Is it worth grading?
Grading pays only if the card comes back a 10 often enough. Put in your numbers and see the chance of a 10 you need. Every card page on TickerMint opens this pre-filled with that card's prices.

QUICK ANSWERS
Is it worth getting a Pokemon card graded?
Only when the PSA 10 price is far enough above the raw price to cover the grading fee, shipping both ways, and the marketplace fee, weighted by how likely your copy is to come back a 10. A card that sells for $5 raw almost never pays; a card whose PSA 10 sells for several times its raw price often does.
What chance of a PSA 10 do I need for grading to pay off?
The break-even chance is the share of submissions that must come back a 10 for grading to beat selling raw. This calculator works it out from your prices and fees. If your honest guess for the copy is below it, sell raw.
What happens if the card comes back a 9?
You still paid the fees, so a 9 has to sell for more than the raw copy plus the grading and shipping costs to break even. Enter a PSA 9 price to include it; leave it blank and the calculator assumes a 9 sells like a raw copy.
Where do the prices on TickerMint card pages come from?
Raw prices are TCGplayer's Near Mint market from real sales, and the PSA 10 figure is the lowest current PSA 10 asking price on eBay. Every box on the calculator is editable.
